Junior Golf

Somerby junior golf programs
The professional staff at Somerby Golf Club has established a golf program for junior golfers designed to target all aspects of the game of golf. Our focus is to teach the fundamentals of golf, basic rules of the game, and etiquette that accompany the game. Through fundamental movement skills, contests and games, we will create a fun and social learning environment for all juniors to enjoy.

covid-19 ACTION PLAN

In accordance with local and national recommendations, we have instituted the following protocols as a part of our regular operations for our summer golf progamming:

  • Coaches and students will maintain proper social distancing of at least 6 feet during lessons and group instruction
  • Range stations will be spread out to provide increased separation
  • Training aids and rental clubs are used minimally and disinfected before each use
  • Additional hand sanitizer will also be provided for students
  • Paying in advance by phone or member charge is strongly encouraged
  • Students who are sick or experiencing a fever should not attend lessons

In addition to the above steps, we are incorporating special procedures for our summer junior golf to encourage social distancing. Cones/ tape etc. will be used to delineate spacing at drop off and pick up as well as throughout junior golf learning time. Games and activities have been adapted and group sizes will be capped. We have special games designed to encourage these habits but also request that you remind your children of the importance of no hugs, handshakes, etc. with their friends while at golf.

If you have any questions about our procedures, please feel free to contact Katie or Sara at golfprokatie@gmail.com or golfprosara@gmail.com.

LPGA*USGA Girls Golf is the only national junior golf program that specializes in providing girl-friendly environments for juniors to learn the game of golf. We’re experts in making the game of golf fun, and we teach more than just stance and swing; we teach girls valuable life skills like confidence and perseverance. Girls Golf helps prepare girls ages 6-17 for a lifetime of enjoyment of the game while also inspiring them to feel confident, build positive self-esteem and live active healthy lives through the 5 E’s of Girls Golf: Empower, Enrich, Engage, Energize, and Exercise. Our Girls Golf Club will meet five times throughout the summer. Each session will have a different theme where we will incorporate various areas of focus. Girls will build friendships with fellow golfers, consistent exposure to golf and golf instruction, and the tools to begin their own practice repertoire.
